Three Simple Steps to Help Prevent Overeating
We are all about gluttony. But we conditioned ourselves this way. When we are so stuffed and full, we get told: "Think about the children in third world countries who don't have enough food to eat!" And this makes us try to force ourselves to finish everything on our plates.
This ideology to not waste food has made our waistlines bigger. Why are you eating when you're not even hungry? Sometimes it's purely a better deal to supersize or buy a larger size. But you're not purchasing more food, you're purchasing bad long-term health, chronic diseases, and large medical bills.
These three simple steps may help you prevent overeating: (Easy?)
1. Ask
2. Visualize
3. DecideFirst, ask yourself:
Would you rather see this leftover food.......
in the garbage can?Or on your BUTT?
Second, visualize. See the two pictures in your head:
Third step... Make your decision! One way to look at it.

Or just prepare wisely so you won't have to see either.
or you could always eat something slightly healthier if you must snack =)
hahaha this one made me laugh =D
I am finally seeing the results after a month. I was able to lose 3 lbs (the safe and health way, of course).
Thanks for your encouragement and advice!
I usually prevent myself from overeating by chanting something about my imagined goal of losing weight.
"I want to be pretty, I want to be HOT".
I agree with what you're saying, but as someone who is VERY against reverse-thinspo, I don't like that picture. It's really cruel to the women who's picture was taken from whatever purpose it was suppose to serve, and then put online as "look at the fat chick."
@Tanezia_Delight - Okay. Sorry if I brought any bad feelings. Actually I've never heard of reverse-thinspo, but that kinda makes sense. I'll change it up to something more generic. No worries~
imagining yourself as fat is definately a good way to prevent overeating.
I don't think overeating has anything to do with not wasting food. But, it has everything to do with bad choices. Most people honestly don't care about the fact that they may be wasting food. In all honesty, I don't consider the junk that is so inviting food. It's exactly that: junk.
Eating healthier and making wise choices about what you buy will not only prevent you from overeating, but also be healthier and help put your money where it should be. I try to explain this to my mom. Like, for example, if you don't buy ice cream, packs of caprisun, candy, or chips (add more to the list if you wish), you can easily take that money and buy fruit, vegetables, fish, etc. So, we can't always say the bad foods are cheaper (which it is), because we could easily eliminate them from our choices and spend that money instead on healthy stuff. =]
And the less refined foods you buy, the less hungry you'll feel.
What exercises do you recommend for the big butt? Just kidding.
haha, good idea
lol I like this post "in the trash or your ass" so close to rhyming. Normally I say "if you get it right, you will get it tight" after some rap song I heard a few years back (I am aware the meaning behind the name of the song is different than the meaning I adopted for it now).
aww you are TOO sweet, seriously...i don't take compliments well, but that made my day :) thank you!
oh gawd. *puts down the cheesecake.
I love how this is pretty much just blunt.
It made me smile...and then, of course, think about what I've eaten today. You know what's strange? I tend to eat less and be full faster when I'm active.
haha this made me laugh/smile, it's a great way to think about things. i'm pretty bad at this because i hate wasting food, i think it was driven into me as a child when we were on welfare for awhile and we couldn't waste food, but nowadays (i live on my own and buy my own groceries) nobody is going to starve if i decide not to finish those last few pieces of tortillini. and saying it's okay not to eat all of that can lead to decisions to make smaller portions etc I hope at least. I'm going to try to work on that.
@communitychannel - lunges + squats = love <3
I always thought that when they took care of their waists ( centre of gravity ) then the rest of the body would follow.
