FitFlops: Shoes that Will Make Your Butt Smaller?
A shoe with a built-in gym? FitFlops were designed by a chiropractor so that the structure will help increase muscle activity in your glutes, legs, and calves as you walk. The company claims that every step taken in these flip flops will help to tone and trim your legs and butt.
I think that a lot of the FitFlops advertising sounds too good to be true. One reviewer claims, "My girlfriend has lost 4 inches from her legs just by wearing her FitFlops around the house."
-But how long did it take for her to lose those 4 inches?
-Did she lose weight because of the FitFlops or because she restricted her diet?
-Could she have lost the same 4 inches if she ate buffet every day? Probably not!I believe in "calories in = calories out" when it comes to your weight. One can only lose weight if he burns more calories than he consumes. I have been testing these shoes out for the last three weeks however, and I actually quite like them. They are incredibly comfortable and give my feet good support. I can walk for hours in them. The flat-shoe craze that has been going on actually really hurts my feet! You'd think flat shoes are better for your feet than heels, but some flats are so flat that they do not give you any support and I find they end up hurting just as quickly as heels would.
When I first wore my FitFlops, I could kind of feel my calf muscles being worked out more as I walked. I didn't feel as much in my quads or glutes and this may be because I go to the gym consistently and do a lot of squats and lunges. Even if FitFlops stimulates leg muscle activity a bit more than other shoes, it's nothing that jogging or running can't accomplish!
FitFlops come quite pricey at $79.99CDN. I don't believe that it will help you lose weight or tone-up as easily as the advertisements and reviewers claim, but it is an extremely comfortable and supportive shoe. If you have the money, go for it. But when it comes to toning your muscles, this is a better formula:
Squats + Lunges = Love!! <3

I've always thought that those type of things were just ways people consoled themselves instead of actually working out. I completely agree with your final formula!
i don't understand this type of stuff.. just wear regular shoes and go exercise
@subaru3169 - ur funny lol
i think its really useless to buy fitfops....
A friend of mine bought a pair last year when I visited NY. Not sure if it worked for her but I have to say that I don't like the name at all for some reason (I don't know why!)
Well, I've noticed that heels on a girl accentuate the butt with a nice wiggle but flip-flops don't.
They look comfy.
Maybe they weigh 30 lbs each.

..thanks for the post. You're right on about the exercising...but,.I'll see if my daughter or my wife can try these fitflops...they both work out so, it'll be just to see for comfort? I think a store right done the road sells them...to be continued...
Aloha...
@Roadlesstaken - I don't either.
I could see these being useful for people who would walk more with a comfortable sandal on their feet than they do otherwise - I hate wearing shoes and socks but love to move, walk, jump, etc. I can't justify that price, though.

I think I need something like this. I walk around everywhere with flat rubber flip-flops and they hurt my feet!
Would you recommend this? I have flat feet and I'm going to college soon and my school has hundreds of staircases and hills.
@Meowmeowkimmaee - I have flat feet too -- I find these really comfortable tho! I used to get orthotics before to give more support/arch to my feet. But i haven't used them in a number of years. I've also heard good things about Birkenstocks and Crocs for good support. Altho I don't like the look of Crocs = =
@i_Nutrition - Crocs are a crime against fashion. These are not so bad. I really need a good pair of sandals for school though because I'm going to be walking everywhere and wearing skirts with running shoes is so ugly.
LOL, ya right! ;)
It's so lucky for me to find your blog! So shocking and great! Just one suggestion: It will be better and easier to follow if your blog can offer rrs subscription service.
