  • On the Tapeworm Diet

    I got the following question:
"I wonder how could my friend, she eats so much yet stays thin... I don't understand that... She told me that there are many worms in her stomach, lol... What do u think?"

tapeworm Your friend could just genetically have a higher metabolism than most people. Everybody is different. But a taller person can burn more calories per day than a shorter person, even if they are both the same weight.

It is a possibility that your friend may have tapeworms in her body. If she truly suspects that she has a tapeworm infection, then she should really see a doctor and get some medication to eliminate the worms.

Contaminated foods or undercooked pork can have parasitic eggs. If you consume these eggs, then tapeworms will grow in your body (particularly in the intestine). The worms eat away the food you eat. Some people think this is a method to lose weight and ingest pills containing tapeworm eggs! But the worms also eat away important nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that your body needs to grow!

Plus it's a little gross isn't it? The tapeworms grow incredibly long and keep reproducing! I've heard that tapeworms can come out of your butt, nose, or mouth! You might find little larvae (baby tapeworms) in your poo!

Check out how long they can get in this Youtube video:

Although the tapeworm diet is completely disgusting to me, some people are still willing to do it. There is a mental motivation there to do anything possible to lose weight. There are not many symptoms from tapeworm infections at the beginning. There can be nausea, weakness, stomach pains, or diarrhea. The tapeworms can also produce nutrient-deficiencies. But eventually, the tapeworm will move out of your intestines and into other parts of your body! That includes the BRAIN! More severe infections include:

    • Seizures
    • Fever
    • Bacterial infection
    • Allergic reactions
    • See more symptoms at mayoclinic.com

Would you do the tapeworm diet? I think it's nasty! But the two girls sitting in the middle of the Youtube video above still wanted to ingest tapeworm eggs even after seeing how disgusting they are!
